Anointing the sick

Annointing The Sick

he Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick provides the healing presence of Jesus Christ to those who are ill and in distress. This ministry of healing is bestowed through the Holy Spirit at the ordination of priests, who carry out Jesus Christ's mission of healing. This sacrament is offered to individuals who are seriously ill, undergoing major surgery, or in urgent need of divine healing. Whenever feasible, individuals should receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation prior to this sacrament, which is subsequently followed by the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist.
Everyone is welcome to receive the grace of this sacrament. If you or a family member requires an anointing at home or in the hospital, please contact the Parish Office at 847-437-6208.
